Heather Greggs, PGDipMST, PGDipIE

Biography

Heather Greggs is an experienced educational leader with a distinguished career across mainstream, specialist, and deaf education settings within the UK education system. With almost 20 years of experience, her work is grounded in a deep commitment to inclusive practice and the development of equitable learning environments that meet the needs of all learners. Over the course of her career, Heather has taught in a variety of schools across the UK and held senior leadership roles in a variety of settings, with responsibilities encompassing whole school leadership, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), whole-school inclusion, and professional learning for staff and partner professionals beyond education.

Heather has extensive experience in deaf education, having led national initiatives that promote communication access, language development, and the inclusion of deaf learners within both specialist and mainstream contexts. She has worked closely with Teachers of the Deaf, audiology services, and local authorities to embed inclusive practices in line with the SEND Code of Practice and the UK Equality Act 2010.

Her research interests focus on inclusive pedagogy, leadership for diversity, and the advancement of educational provision for deaf and disabled pupils. Heather continues to contribute to the sector through evidence-informed leadership, inter-agency collaboration, and the mentoring of future educators and leaders committed to advancing inclusive education across the world. .
